Lone Pine Hotel Reopened for Business on Nov 1 2010

According to the news report, Lone Pine Hotel in Batu Ferringghi of Penang Island was reopened for Business on Nov 1 2010.

Established in 1948 along the Batu Ferringhi stretch, Lone Pine is Penang's oldest beach hotel, renowned for its idyllic setting and casuarina trees.

Renewed, rejuvenated and touted as the premier luxury boutique hotel, it maintains its colonial spirit while adding some modern touches.

Reopened for business on Nov 1 2010, the hotel has increased the number of its rooms to 90, with a brand new block specially designed to blend into the existing setting.

All rooms in the older blocks have also been fully refurbished.

Hotel general manager Michael Saxon said guests could look forward to a spa, function rooms, reading room, games room, gymnasium, gift shop, adult and childrens pools, among other facilities.

Being the oldest beach hotel in Penang with the newest facilities, we will add a bit of spark to the local scene and cater to an ever increasing market of discerning travellers, Saxon added.

In addition to The Bungalow, the hotel's popular coffee house, two new F&B outlets, the Batubar (lounge) and Matsu (Japanese restaurant will open in January, 2011)
