Green House @ Popus or also known as Popus House is located at Lorong Popus, Georgetown of Penang Island. Originally built in the 1900s, the 3 double-storey heritage houses that make up Green House @ Popus were painstakingly and tastefully restored to its current condition in 2008 by award-winning Australian motel operators Pat and Alan Jones.
It offers an alternative short and long accommodation option to tourists and business travellers alike who appreciate the unique living experience in a heritage house. The outer facade of each house is uniquely Chinese Strait Settlement design, typical of the many heritage buildings that made Penang the most complete surviving historic city centre on the Straits of Malacca with a multi-cultural living heritage originating from the trade routes from Great Britain and Europe through the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent and the Malay Archipelago to China, as acknowledged by
UNESCO.
